Dr. Pate was born and raised in the small town of Rockford, Alabama. He obtained dual degrees from Troy State University and Auburn University Montgomery in Nursing and Physical Science. Dr. Pate worked as an intensive care nurse for several years before entering Dental School at the University of Alabama. He was awarded by the American College of Dentists and the American College of Prosthodontics.
After graduation, he attended a one year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency, where he received specialized training in Oral Surgery(extractions), Endodontics(root canal therapy), Periodontics(gum disease), and Prosthodontics(crown and bridge). Dr. Pate has recently returned from Okinawa, Japan where he proudly served as a Dental Officer in the United States Navy.
Dr. Pate has kept up to date with varying procedures by attending numerous Continuing Education courses including Mini Implants for Denture Stabilization and Laser Dentistry. He will perform all aspects of general dentistry, including whitening, cosmetic restorations, root canal therapy, crowns and fixed bridges, implant and non-implant retained dentures and restorations, and extractions.
Dr. Pate met his wife Cat in college and have two children, Blake and Lauren. Blake and his wife Jessica are both Chemical Engineers and reside in Charlston, SC. Lauren is currently a Sophmore in High School and enjoys Tae Kown Do in addition to playing basketball. Dr. Pate and his family enjoy various activities such as camping, riding motorcycles, hunting, fishing and diving.
